SMV, acting as General Contractor, completed the expansion of the Marmi Orobici Graniti production complex in Telgate.
A new production facility was built from the ground up on a previously undeveloped area, including the complete infrastructure of the site and its functional connection to the existing plant and external yards.
Originally planned to cover approximately 11,400 sqm, the project was subsequently expanded to approximately 12,700 sqm of covered area, with around 12,280 sqm of net floor space dedicated to warehousing and production activities.
The works included earthworks, foundations, load-bearing structures, roofing and external cladding, industrial flooring, internal construction works and finishes. Particular attention was given to preparing the building in accordance with the production layout and the stone grinding, resin treatment and polishing lines. This included reinforced concrete foundations specifically designed for each individual machine, as well as underground process-water systems integrated into the foundations and industrial flooring.
The internal spaces include storage and handling areas for stone materials, a workshop, break area, technical rooms and structures supporting overhead cranes.
The project also included new industrial yards, internal roads, parking areas, utility networks and underground services, as well as water-management and hydraulic-invariance works, including a retention basin with a capacity of approximately 450 cubic metres, together with the external landscaping and site works.
SMV managed and coordinated the entire construction process, from the initial transformation of the site through to the complete integration of the new production facility with the existing plant.
